Caning or Hand-Caning
Caned chair, seat caning or seat weaving uses long strands of cane which is the outer bark of the rattan vine.
Sheet Cane, Set-in Cane or Cane-Webbing
Sheet caning, cane webbing or set-in cane installation uses rolls of pre-woven cane held in place by a piece of spline.
Wicker Restoration
or
wicker repair
uses natural wicker,
reed or paper fibre
Rushing
Rush-style seat, imitation rush, paperfibre rush
or seagrass. Rush is woven by hand.
Seat-Weaving | Splinting
Splint-woven seat or hand-woven splint, splint seat or basket-weave seat or reed seat all use reed which can be flat reed, flat oval reed or wide cane.
